Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology successfully organized the ICRIET-2026 International Conference on 27 March 2026, bringing together leading academicians, researchers, and students from across India and abroad. The conference focused on research innovation, technology development, and academic collaboration, making it a significant academic event in the higher education sector. The conference was presided over by the Chairman, Dr. T. Ananth, and coordinated by Dr. K. Nagappan , who delivered the welcome address. The event featured eminent keynote speakers, including Dr. Narendran Rajagopalan from the National Institute of Technology, Puducherry; Mr. Arunkumar Nataraj, Co-founder and Chief Strategist of Rainmaker AI, Malaysia; and Dr. C. Menaka from PES University, Bengaluru. In his address, Dr. T. Ananth highlighted the importance of practical education, research excellence, and technological advancement, emphasizing that modern education must integrate academic knowledge with real-world applications. He also noted that international conferences like ICRIET-2026 serve as vital platforms for knowledge exchange, innovation, and research collaboration. A major highlight of the conference was the release of the ICRIET-2026 abstract proceedings, showcasing cutting-edge research contributions. The keynote speakers emphasized that research and innovation are key drivers of national development, contributing significantly to economic growth, industrial progress, and societal advancement. The conference recorded participation from over 600 students and academicians, with 200 research papers submitted, reflecting strong engagement in engineering research, interdisciplinary studies, and emerging technologies. The event was attended by the institution’s Registrar, Principal, Director, Heads of Departments, and faculty members. The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. B. Silambarasan, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The programme began with the CSI Student Chapter inauguration, marked by the traditional lighting of the lamp. Dr. K. Nagappan, Associate Professor, delivered the welcome address. Vice Principal Mr. Malai Selvaraja emphasized the importance of professional bodies like CSI in enhancing students’ technical and professional skills. Mr. M. Mohamed Faisal presented an overview of CSI, highlighting its objectives, activities, and student benefits. The Cyber Security workshop on “Careers in Cyber Security in the Era of AI” was led by Mr. M. Maharaj, Founder and CEO of BCBUZZ Technologies Private Limited and Honorary CSI Committee Member. He shared insights on cyber security trends, AI in cyber security, certification pathways, and career opportunities in cyber security. Around 80 students actively participated. A MoU signing ceremony was also held between BCBUZZ Technologies Private Limited and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering to strengthen industry-academia collaboration. The MoU focuses on internships, training programmes, workshops, and skill development initiatives for students. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Johny Sebatin. A total of around 150 students and faculty members attended the event.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology successfully organized a one-day workshop titled "CloudTech Hands-On: One-Day Immersion into Cloud Technology” on 18 March 2026. The programme was jointly conducted by the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology. The programme commenced with a welcome address delivered by Mr. N. Raguvaran, Head of the Department of Information Technology. In his address, he highlighted the growing importance of cloud computing skills in the present technology-driven era and encouraged students to make effective use of such training opportunities to enhance their career prospects. During the inaugural session, Mr. M.Mohamed Faisal, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering , honoured the resource person by presenting a shawl and a memento as a token of appreciation. The technical session was conducted by Mr. B. Aravind, Cloud Solution Expert from OrionShift Private Limited, who served as the Resource Person for the workshop. He delivered an informative and engaging session that effectively combined theoretical concepts with hands-on training. The session enabled students to gain practical exposure to cloud platforms, deployment models, cloud infrastructure, and various real-world industrial applications. A total of 100 students along with faculty members from both departments actively participated in the workshop, making the sessions highly interactive and productive. The live demonstrations and practical approach significantly contributed to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. Overall, the workshop was successfully organized and proved to be a valuable and enriching learning experience for all the participants.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, through its Skill Development Cell, organized an Outreach Programme on 08 March 2026 as part of the Small Business Workers Meet initiative.First-year Elite students actively participated in this field activity, conducting surveys across 20 towns in the delta districts of Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Mayiladuthurai. Nearly 100 students engaged with small business sectors including pharmacies, street food vendors, grocery shops, hardware stores, and other local enterprises. This initiative provided students with valuable field exposure. It helped them collect meaningful data that will support future academic studies and analysis, while also enhancing their understanding of local entrepreneurship and small-scale business operations.

Arumugam, then delivered a special address highlighting the importance of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and the wide range of job opportunities available in the field. Mr. Chidambaram Kumar, Deputy Manager (Commercial), Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Nagapattinam Zone, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the welcome address delivered by Prof. Mr. P. Navaneethakrishnan. The College Registrar, Dr. K. Elangovan, honoured the Chief Guest with a shawl and presented a memento. In his presidential address, Dr. K. Elangovan highlighted the importance of speed control, regular vehicle maintenance, and prioritizing passenger safety, urging both drivers and students to act responsibly to ensure a safe and secure transport environment. The Chief Guest elaborated on key aspects such as road traffic regulations, driver responsibility, mandatory use of seat belts, early warning measures to prevent road accidents, and strict adherence to traffic rules, emphasizing the need for social responsibility among students and drivers. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. B. Arun Kumar, Head of the Department of Science and Humanities. The seminar was attended by 50 bus drivers, 200 students, and faculty members, making it a meaningful and informative event.

Aravindhan, CEO of ORIONSHIFT and Director of CDP, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of cloud technology in the digital transformation era, explaining service models such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, discussing deployment models, and highlighting the increasing demand for certified cloud professionals. The chief guests were honoured with a traditional shawl and mementoes as a token of appreciation. Mr. B. A workshop on “AI Based Real World Problem Solving” was conducted on 20 February 2026 for the students to enhance their knowledge in emerging technologies and practical applications of Artificial Intelligence. The session was handled by Mrs S. VIKNESWARI, Technical Trainer at CADPOINT Institute of Science and Technology. Mrs S.VIKNESWARI began the session with an introduction to Artificial Intelligence and explained how AI is transforming various industries. She clearly described the basic concepts of AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science in a simple and understandable manner. She emphasized the importance of problem-solving skills and how AI techniques can be applied to solve real-world challenges. During the workshop, she demonstrated practical examples such as AI applications in healthcare, business analytics, fraud detection, recommendation systems, and smart automation. She explained how machine learning models are trained using data and how algorithms help in making intelligent decisions. Real-time case studies were discussed to give students a better understanding of how AI works in real-life scenarios. He encouraged students to work on mini projects and explore AI-based innovations. The session was interactive, and students actively participated by asking questions and sharing ideas. Overall, the workshop was highly informative and beneficial. It provided valuable insights into AI technologies and their practical implementation in solving real-world problems. 🎓 Internship Achievement – Industry Exposure in Artificial Intelligence & Web Technologies.
Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology proudly highlights the achievements of its Information Technology Department (III Year) students who have actively participated in industry-oriented internship programs to enhance their technical skills and real-world exposure.
Twelve students successfully completed a one-week online internship with Zoho Corporation focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The program featured expert sessions delivered by engineers from Indian Institutes of Technology and concluded with certificates recognized by MSME.
Additionally, Gunadharshini completed a one-month Internship Training Program at GENEVIX, Coimbatore, gaining hands-on experience in HTML, JavaScript, Artificial Intelligence, Google Gemini AI Engine integration, Google Meet integration, and Twilio automation technologies.
The internship certificates were shown to the College Director, Dr. A. Kumaravadivel, in the presence of the Head of the Department, Mr. N. Raguvaran, and faculty members. The Director congratulated the students on their achievements and encouraged them to continue engaging in industry-driven learning initiatives.

Overview of Ph.D. Workshop Date: 11.12.2025 As part of the IQAC initiative, the R&D Cell organized a workshop titled “Overview of Ph.D.” on 11th December 2025 to create awareness and motivate faculty members toward research and doctoral studies. Dr. A. Kumaravadivel, our esteemed Director, delivered an inspiring motivational speech highlighting the importance of pursuing a Ph.D. He encouraged faculty to embrace research, develop new ideas, and contribute meaningfully to academic growth. Dr. V. Kavitha, R&D Coordinator, offered the introductory remarks, emphasizing the significance of research culture and how such workshops support scholars in shaping their research goals. The event began with a warm welcome address by HOD Mr. M. Mohamed Faisal, followed by multiple engaging quiz rounds. Mr. G. Bharathi Kannan, AP/CSE, efficiently coordinated the quiz activities. Vice Principal Prof. Malai Selvaraja honored the winners by distributing prizes, and certificates were awarded to all participants. IT Department students secured the First Prize, while Mechanical Engineering students won the Second Prize in the competition. Finally, Dr. K. "Vaagai Sooda Vaa – IAS Awareness and Motivation Program" A special motivational program titled “Vaagai Sooda Vaa” was held on 29th October 2025 at Sir Issac Newton Educational Institutions, Nagapattinam, jointly organized by King Makers Academy and Kumudam Weekly Magazine. The program aimed to inspire final-year students from Engineering, Arts, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Education colleges to pursue careers in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and other civil service sectors.
The event began with Tamil Thai Vazhthu and lighting of the Kuthuvilakku. Ms. F. Jegatha Sindhiya Merry, Vice Principal, Sir Issac Newton College of Nursing, delivered the Welcome Address, followed by the Honoring of the Chief Guest.

The workshop aimed to provide participants with practical exposure to the design and development of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), with enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. The Chief Guest, Mr. S. Saran, Operational Manager of Ematix Embedded and Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Salem, addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights on PCB design and prototyping. Through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations, participants gained hands-on experience in simulation drawing, PCB layout design, and circuit board prototyping. The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants, with a total of 50 students actively taking part in the event.

At AVC College of Engineering, our talented students Monish and Hariharan (III Year CSE) secured the 1st Prize in the Debugging event, showcasing their excellent problem-solving skills and technical expertise.

At the EGS Pillai Engineering College Symposium, Thavaprakash and Venkatesh (III Year CSE) emerged as winners of the Code Storm event, earning a 1st Prize with a cash reward of ₹1000 for their outstanding coding performance.

Adding to the department’s achievements, M. Backiyasree and M. Santhiya (III Year CSE) won the 2nd Prize in the event “Encrypted Isai”, demonstrating their creativity and teamwork.

The workshop aimed to create awareness and enthusiasm among students regarding the BAJA SAEINDIA event and to prepare them for active participation in the competition. The Resource Person for the program was Dr. T. Prabakaran, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College, Chennai, who also serves as the SAE Club – BAJA Coordinator and Innovation & Incubation Mentor. The session began with a warm welcome address by Mr. P. Malaiselvaraja, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SINCET. Dr. T.Arunkumar, Director – Training & Placement, Sir Issac Newton Educational Institutions, delivered an insightful speech on the importance and benefits of SAEINDIA for engineering students. During the technical session, Dr. T. Prabakaran elaborated on the objectives, design process, and participation procedures of the BAJA SAEINDIA competition. He motivated the students with real-time examples and success stories of student teams who have excelled in BAJA events. Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Mechanical Engineering, organized a one-day industrial visit for third-year Mechanical Engineering students on 09.10.2025 to Techie NDT Inspection and Services Pvt. Ltd., Trichy. During the visit, company experts provided a detailed explanation of various types of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and discussed the wide range of career opportunities available in the NDT field, particularly in the petroleum and refinery industries. The session was highly informative and provided valuable industrial exposure to the students. The Department sincerely thanks the College Management, Registrar, Principal, Director, Head of the Department, and office faculty members for their support and encouragement in successfully organizing this visit.

We are delighted to share that 18 Third-Year B.Tech Agricultural Engineering students participated in various events at the National Level Students’ Technical Symposium organized by AVC College of Engineering.
Our students actively took part in paper presentations and proudly secured the First Prize (Rs. 1,000) for their presentation on the topic “Integrated Seawater Desalination and Green Hydrogen Production.”
This achievement provided an excellent platform for our students to enhance their technical knowledge and communication skills.

The program began with an address to the gathering by Dr. K. Nagappan, Associate Professor, and Mr. M. Mohamed Faisal, Head of the Department of CSE. The celebration continued with competitions that highlighted the significance of engineering and innovation. Students showcased their talents through drawing and speech competitions. Arthi, Ahusan Sajith, and Divagar from IV Year CSE won prizes in the Drawing Competition, while Arulpandi (IV Year), Lavanya (III Year), Yugashri (II Year), and Rubiya (III Year) excelled in the Speech Competition. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. J. Venkatesan, Managing Partner, JM Consultancy Services, Nagapattinam, and Mr. R. Rajasekhar, Centre Head, HOPE Foundation, Nagapattinam, as the Chief Guests of the day. The celebration concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Kavibala, IV Year CSE, marking the successful completion of the program.

Event 1

Engineer's Day Function - 15.09.2025
The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized the Engineer's Day Function. Mr. P. Malaiselvaraja, Head of the Department, welcomed the Chief Guest Mr. Chidambhara Kumar from TNSTC. Dr. T. Arun Kumar emphasized the role of engineering in society. Shields were awarded to students with 100% attendance, academic excellence, and sports achievements. Around 150 students and all department heads participated.

Engineer's Day – AI & DS Department
Celebrated with a classical dance, speech, and quiz competition. Mrs. K. Maheshwari addressed the gathering and Ms. P. Sobiya concluded with a vote of thanks.

CM Trophy – Cricket Competition
The college team won Third Place at the District Level Cricket Competition. Thanks to Mr. K. Saravana Kumar for his guidance.
