A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed today between Shri Chamundi Baking Equipments, Kumbakonam, and Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Nagapattinam. This collaboration marks an important step towards strengthening industry–academia relationships, particularly in the domain of manufacturing technology and export-oriented industrial practices.
Shri Chamundi Baking Equipments, a leading manufacturer and exporter of bakery machinery, was represented by Mr. Chandrasekar, Chief Executive Officer, who emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting engineering students through practical exposure and hands-on learning. The company is widely recognized for its advanced manufacturing processes, quality standards, and strong global presence in the bakery equipment market.
Representing Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Dr. K. Elangovan, Registrar, highlighted the institution’s vision of providing students with real-world industrial exposure and enhancing their job-ready skills through meaningful partnerships.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, under the Association of Computer Engineers, organized The Tech whiz Challenge 2025 Quiz Program on 17th November 2025, with enthusiastic participation from 70 students across various departments. The event began with a warm welcome address by HOD Mr. M. Mohamed Faisal, followed by multiple engaging quiz rounds. Mr. G. Bharathi Kannan, AP/CSE, efficiently coordinated the quiz activities. Vice Principal Prof. Malai Selvaraja honored the winners by distributing prizes, and certificates were awarded to all participants. IT Department students secured the First Prize, while Mechanical Engineering students won the Second Prize in the competition. Finally, Dr. K. Nagappan, Associate Professor / CSE and Convenor of the quiz competition, effectively managed the event and delivered the vote of thanks, marking a successful and vibrant academic gathering.
Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology organized the Inauguration of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Students Chapter on 06.11.2025. The programme commenced with a warm Welcome Address delivered by Dr. V. Kavitha, Programme Convener. The Chief Guest, Dr.T.Ananth, Chairman, Sir Issac Newton Group of Institutions, delivered the Presidential Address, emphasizing the objectives of ISTE and its vital role in promoting professional excellence, innovation, and technical collaboration among engineering students. He appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and encouraged students to actively participate in professional bodies and technical forums. Mr. P. Malaiselvaraja, Vice Principal, proposed the Vote of Thanks. The event was graced by the Registrar of Sir Issac Newton Educational Institutions, the Principal, Training and Placement Director, and Heads of various Departments, along with faculty members. Around 500 students enthusiastically participated in the programme. The new Centralized Training and Placement Office was inaugurated today by our Chairman, Dr. T. Ananth Sir, followed by a divine Pooja Ceremony 🙏. All Principals, Placement Coordinators, and the Best Students from each college jointly lit the Kuthu Vilakku 🪔, marking an auspicious beginning. In his inspiring address, Dr. T. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology organized an insightful industrial visit to the ISRO – Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) on 17 October 2025. Students of the 2022–2026 batch had a unique opportunity to explore advanced space research facilities and gain practical exposure to cutting‑edge technologies. The visit aimed to deepen their understanding of space science applications and to inspire innovative, research‑oriented thinking among future engineers.
"Vaagai Sooda Vaa – IAS Awareness and Motivation Program"
A special motivational program titled “Vaagai Sooda Vaa” was held on 29th October 2025 at Sir Issac Newton Educational Institutions, Nagapattinam, jointly organized by King Makers Academy and Kumudam Weekly Magazine.
The program aimed to inspire final-year students from Engineering, Arts, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Education colleges to pursue careers in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and other civil service sectors.
The event began with Tamil Thai Vazhthu and lighting of the Kuthuvilakku.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a two-day hands-on workshop on “PCB Design Process and Prototyping” on October 24 and 25, 2025. The workshop aimed to provide participants with practical exposure to the design and development of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), with enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. The Chief Guest, Mr. S. Saran, Operational Manager of Ematix Embedded and Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Salem, addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights on PCB design and prototyping. Through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations, participants gained hands-on experience in simulation drawing, PCB layout design, and circuit board prototyping. The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants, with a total of 50 students actively taking part in the event.
Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, through its R&D Cell and the Department of Science and Humanities, jointly organized the “Newton - Tech Innova 2025” Expo on 24th October 2025. First-year Engineering students actively participated and presented 20 innovative projects based on recent and emerging technologies. The event was meticulously planned and coordinated by the R&D Cell Coordinator and the Head of the Department of Science and Humanities.
The occasion was graced by the Registrar, Director, Principal, Vice Principal, Training and Placement Director, and all Heads of Departments. Mr. Saran, Guest from Embedded Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Salem, interacted with the students and offered valuable feedback and appreciation for their innovative ideas. The dignitaries evaluated and encouraged the student projects. The event served as a platform for young innovators to explore, exhibit, and exchange emerging ideas in science and technology, fostering creativity and practical learning among budding engineers.
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) of Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ematix Embedded and software Solutions pvt Ltd. The MoU aims to provide students with industrial exposure, hands-on training, and opportunities for collaborative projects in emerging technologies.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized two significant events on 16th October 2025 — the Inauguration of the CSI Chapter and a One-Day Seminar on “ Launching into the IT Industry. At AVC College of Engineering, our talented students Monish and Hariharan (III Year CSE) secured the 1st Prize in the Debugging event, showcasing their excellent problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
At the EGS Pillai Engineering College Symposium, Thavaprakash and Venkatesh (III Year CSE) emerged as winners of the Code Storm event, earning a 1st Prize with a cash reward of ₹1000 for their outstanding coding performance.
Adding to the department’s achievements, M. Backiyasree and M. Santhiya (III Year CSE) won the 2nd Prize in the event “Encrypted Isai”, demonstrating their creativity and teamwork.

A One-Day Workshop on “BAJA SAEINDIA Awareness and Preparatory Program” was organized by the Departments of Mechanical and Agricultural Engineering at Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Nagapattinam, on 11th October 2025.
The workshop aimed to create awareness and enthusiasm among students regarding the BAJA SAEINDIA event and to prepare them for active participation in the competition.
The Resource Person for the program was Dr. T. Prabakaran, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College, Chennai, who also serves as the SAE Club – BAJA Coordinator and Innovation & Incubation Mentor.
The session began with a warm welcome address by Mr. P. Malaiselvaraja, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SINCET.
Dr. T.Arunkumar, Director – Training & Placement, Sir Issac Newton Educational Institutions, delivered an insightful speech on the importance and benefits of SAEINDIA for engineering students.
During the technical session, Dr. T. Prabakaran elaborated on the objectives, design process, and participation procedures of the BAJA SAEINDIA competition. He motivated the students with real-time examples and success stories of student teams who have excelled in BAJA events. His inspiring words increased students’ interest and confidence to take part in future BAJA competitions.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Mechanical Engineering, organized a one-day industrial visit for third-year Mechanical Engineering students on 09.10.2025 to Techie NDT Inspection and Services Pvt. Ltd., Trichy. During the visit, company experts provided a detailed explanation of various types of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and discussed the wide range of career opportunities available in the NDT field, particularly in the petroleum and refinery industries. The session was highly informative and provided valuable industrial exposure to the students. The Department sincerely thanks the College Management, Registrar, Principal, Director, Head of the Department, and office faculty members for their support and encouragement in successfully organizing this visit.
We are delighted to share that 18 Third-Year B.Tech Agricultural Engineering students participated in various events at the National Level Students’ Technical Symposium organized by AVC College of Engineering.
Our students actively took part in paper presentations and proudly secured the First Prize (Rs. 1,000) for their presentation on the topic “Integrated Seawater Desalination and Green Hydrogen Production.”
This achievement provided an excellent platform for our students to enhance their technical knowledge and communication skills.
We are happy to announce that Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technologyfirst-year students from all branches, numbering 30, enthusiastically participated in various programs at AVC College of Engineering. Our students actively took part and presented papers in English, Mathematics, and Physics. The students of AI&ML, K. Indhusri and G. Pavithra, along with CSE students G. Sujitha, M. Mithra, K. Srivarshan, and G. Sabari, presented papers and won the second and third prizes in the event “English in Digital World: Challenges and Solutions.” Students from CSE also secured the second prize in “Advanced Materials in Nanotechnology,” while AI&DS students S. Swathi and M. Ragavi were the runners in the events “Joy Jam Spectacle” and “Inno Connect Quest.” This achievement provided an excellent platform for our students to enhance their technical knowledge and communication skills.

The Honourable Chairman, Dr. T. Ananth, inaugurated the Centre of Excellence with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Following this, the Registrar, Director, and Vice Principal, Director T&P, IQAC and all departments Heads jointly inaugurated another Centre of Excellence.
A total of four specialized laboratories were opened under the Centre of Excellence, aimed at fostering advanced learning and innovative research.
In his address, the Chairman highlighted the significance of research activities and emphasized the institution’s commitment to achieving its next milestones in academic and industrial collaboration.

COE Grand Opening Ceremony
The students of Department of Science and Humanities organized the Inauguration of the Shakespeare Club on 07.10.2025 at the college auditorium. The program began with a Prayer Song by the students, followed by the Lighting of Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries.
Ms. S. Lincy (I CSE) delivered the Welcome Address, and Mr. Sai Krishnan (I AI & DS) briefed about the objectives and vision of the Shakespeare Club. The inauguration was graced by the Principal and Registrar and Placement Director, who delivered the Felicitation Addresses highlighting the importance of literary clubs in enhancing communication and creativity among students.
Club activities were presented by Mr. Karthika (I IT), and the App Inauguration and Presentation were done by Ms. Santhiya, Ms. Harshini Devi, and Ms. Nasiha (IV AI & DS). The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. J. Vignesh (I CSE) and the National Anthem.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Department of AI & DS, in association with the IPR Cell, organized a one-day workshop on Innovation Thinking and Implementing IPR on 26th September 2025. The session was delivered by Dr. G. Mahesh, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering, Saranathan College of Engineering, Tiruchirappalli, who highlighted the importance of innovation, protection of intellectual property, and practical strategies for patenting ideas. The program featured a welcome address by Dr. V. Kavitha, chief guest introduction by Mrs. K. Maheshwari, a felicitation by Dr. Arunkumar, and an honouring of the chief guest by Mr. N. Raguvaran. It concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. B. Silambarasan. Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology successfully conducted a Training on Learning Communication Program Mr.T.Gopinath and Mr.V.Shanmugavel led the session aimed at enhancing the placement readiness of first-year Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) students on 23rd September 2025. The program focused on developing essential communication skills to support students in their future career pursuits.
Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, successfully organized the Reconstitution of the Department Association “ARINDASCI” on 22nd September 2025. The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Mrs. K. Maheshwari, Head of the Department (AI & DS), who highlighted the vision and goals of the association, followed by the introduction of the newly elected association executives who were entrusted with their responsibilities. As part of the reconstitution ceremony, the association organized its first event – an External Seminar by Ms. E. Bhavadharani, Senior Technical Trainer, Cadpoint Institute of Science and Technology, Nagapattinam, who delivered an insightful session on emerging trends and opportunities in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, inspiring students to explore innovations and strengthen their technical expertise. The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Mrs. K. Gowri, Assistant Professor (AI & DS), who expressed gratitude to the management, guest speaker, faculty members, association executives, and students for their enthusiastic support and participation.
Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology successfully conducted a one-day training programme on Effective Public Speaking for the first-year BE – CSE (AI & ML) students. The trainers, Mr. V. Shanmugavel and Mr. T. Gopinath, assigned various tasks to the students and engaged them in a very active and pleasant manner. The students enthusiastically participated in all the activities and learned several valuable communication skills. This training has paved the way for the students to overcome stage fear and shyness when interacting with new people, while also helping them develop an effective and unique style of communication.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Nagapattinam, through its NSS Unit, organized an Anti-Drug Quiz Competition on 15.09.2025 to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse. The winners of the competition were K. Prasanna (I Prize, 3rd Year AIDS), T. Subasri (II Prize, 3rd Year AIDS), and Amirthaboorani (III Prize, 3rd Year AIDS). The program, which highlighted the importance of knowledge and awareness in combating drug addiction, was successfully organized by Mr. C. Sundarraj (AP/Agri) and Mr. G. Bharathikannan (AP/CSE) under the guidance of the NSS Unit.
