Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology successfully organized the ICRIET-2026 International Conference on 27 March 2026, bringing together leading academicians, researchers, and students from across India and abroad. The conference focused on research innovation, technology development, and academic collaboration, making it a significant academic event in the higher education sector. The conference was presided over by the Chairman, Dr. T. Ananth, and coordinated by Dr. K. Nagappan , who delivered the welcome address. The event featured eminent keynote speakers, including Dr. Narendran Rajagopalan from the National Institute of Technology, Puducherry; Mr. Arunkumar Nataraj, Co-founder and Chief Strategist of Rainmaker AI, Malaysia; and Dr. C. Menaka from PES University, Bengaluru. In his address, Dr. T. Ananth highlighted the importance of practical education, research excellence, and technological advancement, emphasizing that modern education must integrate academic knowledge with real-world applications. He also noted that international conferences like ICRIET-2026 serve as vital platforms for knowledge exchange, innovation, and research collaboration. A major highlight of the conference was the release of the ICRIET-2026 abstract proceedings, showcasing cutting-edge research contributions. The keynote speakers emphasized that research and innovation are key drivers of national development, contributing significantly to economic growth, industrial progress, and societal advancement. The conference recorded participation from over 600 students and academicians, with 200 research papers submitted, reflecting strong engagement in engineering research, interdisciplinary studies, and emerging technologies. The event was attended by the institution’s Registrar, Principal, Director, Heads of Departments, and faculty members. The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. B. Silambarasan, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The programme began with the CSI Student Chapter inauguration, marked by the traditional lighting of the lamp. Dr. K. Nagappan, Associate Professor, delivered the welcome address. Vice Principal Mr. Malai Selvaraja emphasized the importance of professional bodies like CSI in enhancing students’ technical and professional skills. Mr. M. Mohamed Faisal presented an overview of CSI, highlighting its objectives, activities, and student benefits. The Cyber Security workshop on “Careers in Cyber Security in the Era of AI” was led by Mr. M. Maharaj, Founder and CEO of BCBUZZ Technologies Private Limited and Honorary CSI Committee Member. He shared insights on cyber security trends, AI in cyber security, certification pathways, and career opportunities in cyber security. Around 80 students actively participated. A MoU signing ceremony was also held between BCBUZZ Technologies Private Limited and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering to strengthen industry-academia collaboration. The MoU focuses on internships, training programmes, workshops, and skill development initiatives for students. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Johny Sebatin. A total of around 150 students and faculty members attended the event.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology successfully organized a one-day workshop titled "CloudTech Hands-On: One-Day Immersion into Cloud Technology” on 18 March 2026. The programme was jointly conducted by the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology. The programme commenced with a welcome address delivered by Mr. N. Raguvaran, Head of the Department of Information Technology. In his address, he highlighted the growing importance of cloud computing skills in the present technology-driven era and encouraged students to make effective use of such training opportunities to enhance their career prospects. During the inaugural session, Mr. M.Mohamed Faisal, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering , honoured the resource person by presenting a shawl and a memento as a token of appreciation. The technical session was conducted by Mr. B. Aravind, Cloud Solution Expert from OrionShift Private Limited, who served as the Resource Person for the workshop. He delivered an informative and engaging session that effectively combined theoretical concepts with hands-on training. The session enabled students to gain practical exposure to cloud platforms, deployment models, cloud infrastructure, and various real-world industrial applications. A total of 100 students along with faculty members from both departments actively participated in the workshop, making the sessions highly interactive and productive. The live demonstrations and practical approach significantly contributed to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. Overall, the workshop was successfully organized and proved to be a valuable and enriching learning experience for all the participants.

The seminar was conducted from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM and was attended by II and III year CSE students. The programme was organized with the support and coordination of Mr. Mohamed Faisal, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Mohamed Faisal, who warmly welcomed the resource person and the participating students.The seminar was delivered by Mrs. S. Vikneshwari from CAD Point Engineering Solutions Pvt. Ltd. During her session, she explained the fundamentals of Full Stack Development, covering both front-end and back-end technologies. She also shared valuable insights into industry requirements, career opportunities, and the essential skills needed to become a successful full stack developer.The seminar provided valuable knowledge and practical guidance to the students and helped them understand the learning path and career prospects in Full Stack Development. The programme was conducted with great enthusiasm, with active participation from faculty members and students. The event began with a prayer song, setting a positive and respectful tone for the celebration. This was followed by the welcome address delivered by Mrs. K. Maheshwari, HoD of AI & DS, who warmly welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of celebrating International Women’s Day and recognizing women’s achievements in all fields. Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, through its Skill Development Cell, organized an Outreach Programme on 08 March 2026 as part of the Small Business Workers Meet initiative.First-year Elite students actively participated in this field activity, conducting surveys across 20 towns in the delta districts of Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Mayiladuthurai. Nearly 100 students engaged with small business sectors including pharmacies, street food vendors, grocery shops, hardware stores, and other local enterprises. This initiative provided students with valuable field exposure. It helped them collect meaningful data that will support future academic studies and analysis, while also enhancing their understanding of local entrepreneurship and small-scale business operations.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Mechanical Engineering , organized a one-day workshop on “ Non-Destructive Testing and Career Opportunities ” on 04.03.2026. The programme commenced with a welcome address delivered by Dr. B. Silambarasan, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The Academic Head of the college, Mr. S. Arumugam, then delivered a special address highlighting the importance of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and the wide range of job opportunities available in the field. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. S. Selvaperumal, Managing Director of Shri Sai NDT, Puducherry. During his address, he elaborated on various NDT methods, their industrial applications, and emerging career opportunities, while also providing valuable insights into industry requirements and certification pathways for aspiring mechanical engineers. On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Shri Sai NDT and the Department of Mechanical Engineering to promote academic–industry collaboration, training, and skill development initiatives. Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, through its Skill Development Cell, organized a Transport Workers Meet and Safety Workshop on 04.03.2026. Mr. Chidambaram Kumar, Deputy Manager (Commercial), Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Nagapattinam Zone, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the welcome address delivered by Prof. Mr. P. Navaneethakrishnan. The College Registrar, Dr. K. Elangovan, honoured the Chief Guest with a shawl and presented a memento. In his presidential address, Dr. K. Elangovan highlighted the importance of speed control, regular vehicle maintenance, and prioritizing passenger safety, urging both drivers and students to act responsibly to ensure a safe and secure transport environment. The Chief Guest elaborated on key aspects such as road traffic regulations, driver responsibility, mandatory use of seat belts, early warning measures to prevent road accidents, and strict adherence to traffic rules, emphasizing the need for social responsibility among students and drivers. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. B. Arun Kumar, Head of the Department of Science and Humanities. The seminar was attended by 50 bus drivers, 200 students, and faculty members, making it a meaningful and informative event.

The Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering & Technology, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, organized a Cloud Master’s Talk – Orientation Programme on 26 February 2026 to provide students with valuable insights into cloud computing technologies and related career opportunities. The session began with a welcome address by Mr. M. Mohamed Faisal, Head of the Department, CSE. The Chief Guest, Mr. G. Aravindhan, CEO of ORIONSHIFT and Director of CDP, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of cloud technology in the digital transformation era, explaining service models such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, discussing deployment models, and highlighting the increasing demand for certified cloud professionals. The chief guests were honoured with a traditional shawl and mementoes as a token of appreciation. Mr. B. Aravind, HR of the company, addressed students on certification pathways, essential technical competencies, and the practical exposure required to become successful cloud engineers, stressing the need to combine technical expertise with soft skills and encouraging participation in internships and skill-based training programmes. The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session and was attended by nearly 200 students and faculty members, making it a successful and informative event.

A workshop on “AI Based Real World Problem Solving” was conducted on 20 February 2026 for the students to enhance their knowledge in emerging technologies and practical applications of Artificial Intelligence. The session was handled by Mrs S. VIKNESWARI, Technical Trainer at CADPOINT Institute of Science and Technology. Mrs S.VIKNESWARI began the session with an introduction to Artificial Intelligence and explained how AI is transforming various industries. She clearly described the basic concepts of AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science in a simple and understandable manner. She emphasized the importance of problem-solving skills and how AI techniques can be applied to solve real-world challenges. During the workshop, she demonstrated practical examples such as AI applications in healthcare, business analytics, fraud detection, recommendation systems, and smart automation. She explained how machine learning models are trained using data and how algorithms help in making intelligent decisions. Real-time case studies were discussed to give students a better understanding of how AI works in real-life scenarios. He encouraged students to work on mini projects and explore AI-based innovations. The session was interactive, and students actively participated by asking questions and sharing ideas. Overall, the workshop was highly informative and beneficial. It provided valuable insights into AI technologies and their practical implementation in solving real-world problems. 🎓 Internship Achievement – Industry Exposure in Artificial Intelligence & Web Technologies.
Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology proudly highlights the achievements of its Information Technology Department (III Year) students who have actively participated in industry-oriented internship programs to enhance their technical skills and real-world exposure.
Twelve students successfully completed a one-week online internship with Zoho Corporation focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The program featured expert sessions delivered by engineers from Indian Institutes of Technology and concluded with certificates recognized by MSME.
Additionally, Gunadharshini completed a one-month Internship Training Program at GENEVIX, Coimbatore, gaining hands-on experience in HTML, JavaScript, Artificial Intelligence, Google Gemini AI Engine integration, Google Meet integration, and Twilio automation technologies.
The internship certificates were shown to the College Director, Dr. A. Kumaravadivel, in the presence of the Head of the Department, Mr. N. Raguvaran, and faculty members. The Director congratulated the students on their achievements and encouraged them to continue engaging in industry-driven learning initiatives.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology the students of the Department of Science and Humanities won the "Overall Championship at TECHNOFRENZY’26," a "National Level Symposium" held on 12 February 2026 at Rabiammal Ahamed Maideen College for Women. The students excelled in various technical and non-technical events such as Debugging, Web Design, Connection, Spot Dance, and Wordless Wonders, showcasing exceptional talent, creativity, and teamwork, and received the *Overall Championship trophy and shield" for their outstanding performance.

Overview of Ph.D. Workshop Date: 11.12.2025 As part of the IQAC initiative, the R&D Cell organized a workshop titled “Overview of Ph.D.” on 11th December 2025 to create awareness and motivate faculty members toward research and doctoral studies. Dr. A. Kumaravadivel, our esteemed Director, delivered an inspiring motivational speech highlighting the importance of pursuing a Ph.D. He encouraged faculty to embrace research, develop new ideas, and contribute meaningfully to academic growth. Dr. V. Kavitha, R&D Coordinator, offered the introductory remarks, emphasizing the significance of research culture and how such workshops support scholars in shaping their research goals. The resource person, Dr. K. Nagappan, M.Tech., Ph.D., Associate Professor/CSE, briefed the participants on the overall structure of a Ph.D. He explained key components such as selecting a research problem, conducting a literature review, framing objectives, choosing research methodology, and maintaining consistent progress. This collaboration marks an important step towards strengthening industry–academia relationships, particularly in the domain of manufacturing technology and export-oriented industrial practices. Shri Chamundi Baking Equipments, a leading manufacturer and exporter of bakery machinery, was represented by Mr. Chandrasekar, Chief Executive Officer, who emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting engineering students through practical exposure and hands-on learning. The company is widely recognized for its advanced manufacturing processes, quality standards, and strong global presence in the bakery equipment market. Representing Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Dr. K. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, under the Association of Computer Engineers, organized The Tech whiz Challenge 2025 Quiz Program on 17th November 2025, with enthusiastic participation from 70 students across various departments. The event began with a warm welcome address by HOD Mr. M. Mohamed Faisal, followed by multiple engaging quiz rounds. Mr. G. Bharathi Kannan, AP/CSE, efficiently coordinated the quiz activities. Vice Principal Prof. Malai Selvaraja honored the winners by distributing prizes, and certificates were awarded to all participants. IT Department students secured the First Prize, while Mechanical Engineering students won the Second Prize in the competition. Finally, Dr. K. Students of the 2022–2026 batch had a unique opportunity to explore advanced space research facilities and gain practical exposure to cutting‑edge technologies. The visit aimed to deepen their understanding of space science applications and to inspire innovative, research‑oriented thinking among future engineers.

"Vaagai Sooda Vaa – IAS Awareness and Motivation Program" A special motivational program titled “Vaagai Sooda Vaa” was held on 29th October 2025 at Sir Issac Newton Educational Institutions, Nagapattinam, jointly organized by King Makers Academy and Kumudam Weekly Magazine. The program aimed to inspire final-year students from Engineering, Arts, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Education colleges to pursue careers in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and other civil service sectors.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a two-day hands-on workshop on “PCB Design Process and Prototyping” on October 24 and 25, 2025. The workshop aimed to provide participants with practical exposure to the design and development of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), with enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. The Chief Guest, Mr. S. Saran, Operational Manager of Ematix Embedded and Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Salem, addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights on PCB design and prototyping. Through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations, participants gained hands-on experience in simulation drawing, PCB layout design, and circuit board prototyping. The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants, with a total of 50 students actively taking part in the event.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, through its R&D Cell and the Department of Science and Humanities, jointly organized the “Newton - Tech Innova 2025” Expo on 24th October 2025. First-year Engineering students actively participated and presented 20 innovative projects based on recent and emerging technologies. The event was meticulously planned and coordinated by the R&D Cell Coordinator and the Head of the Department of Science and Humanities.
The occasion was graced by the Registrar, Director, Principal, Vice Principal, Training and Placement Director, and all Heads of Departments. Mr. Saran, Guest from Embedded Solutions Pvt. The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) of Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ematix Embedded and software Solutions pvt Ltd. The MoU aims to provide students with industrial exposure, hands-on training, and opportunities for collaborative projects in emerging technologies.

One-Day Workshop on “BAJA SAEINDIA Awareness and Preparatory Program” at SINCET A One-Day Workshop on “BAJA SAEINDIA Awareness and Preparatory Program” was organized by the Departments of Mechanical and Agricultural Engineering at Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Nagapattinam, on 11th October 2025. The workshop aimed to create awareness and enthusiasm among students regarding the BAJA SAEINDIA event and to prepare them for active participation in the competition. The Resource Person for the program was Dr. T. Prabakaran, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College, Chennai, who also serves as the SAE Club – BAJA Coordinator and Innovation & Incubation Mentor. The session began with a warm welcome address by Mr. P. Malaiselvaraja, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SINCET. Dr. T.Arunkumar, Director – Training & Placement, Sir Issac Newton Educational Institutions, delivered an insightful speech on the importance and benefits of SAEINDIA for engineering students. During the technical session, Dr. T. Prabakaran elaborated on the objectives, design process, and participation procedures of the BAJA SAEINDIA competition. He motivated the students with real-time examples and success stories of student teams who have excelled in BAJA events. Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Mechanical Engineering, organized a one-day industrial visit for third-year Mechanical Engineering students on 09.10.2025 to Techie NDT Inspection and Services Pvt. Ltd., Trichy. During the visit, company experts provided a detailed explanation of various types of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and discussed the wide range of career opportunities available in the NDT field, particularly in the petroleum and refinery industries. The session was highly informative and provided valuable industrial exposure to the students. The Department sincerely thanks the College Management, Registrar, Principal, Director, Head of the Department, and office faculty members for their support and encouragement in successfully organizing this visit.

We are delighted to share that 18 Third-Year B.Tech Agricultural Engineering students participated in various events at the National Level Students’ Technical Symposium organized by AVC College of Engineering.
Our students actively took part in paper presentations and proudly secured the First Prize (Rs. 1,000) for their presentation on the topic “Integrated Seawater Desalination and Green Hydrogen Production.”
This achievement provided an excellent platform for our students to enhance their technical knowledge and communication skills.

The Honourable Chairman, Dr. T. Ananth, inaugurated the Centre of Excellence with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Following this, the Registrar, Director, and Vice Principal, Director T&P, IQAC and all departments Heads jointly inaugurated another Centre of Excellence.
A total of four specialized laboratories were opened under the Centre of Excellence, aimed at fostering advanced learning and innovative research.
In his address, the Chairman highlighted the significance of research activities and emphasized the institution’s commitment to achieving its next milestones in academic and industrial collaboration.

COE Grand Opening Ceremony

The students of Department of Science and Humanities organized the Inauguration of the Shakespeare Club on 07.10.2025 at the college auditorium. The program began with a Prayer Song by the students, followed by the Lighting of Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries.

Ms. S. Lincy (I CSE) delivered the Welcome Address, and Mr. Sai Krishnan (I AI & DS) briefed about the objectives and vision of the Shakespeare Club. The inauguration was graced by the Principal and Registrar and Placement Director, who delivered the Felicitation Addresses highlighting the importance of literary clubs in enhancing communication and creativity among students.

Club activities were presented by Mr. Karthika (I IT), and the App Inauguration and Presentation were done by Ms. Santhiya, Ms. Harshini Devi, and Ms. Nasiha (IV AI & DS). The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. J. Vignesh (I CSE) and the National Anthem.

The session was delivered by Dr. G. Mahesh, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering, Saranathan College of Engineering, Tiruchirappalli, who highlighted the importance of innovation, protection of intellectual property, and practical strategies for patenting ideas. The program featured a welcome address by Dr. V. Kavitha, chief guest introduction by Mrs. K. Maheshwari, a felicitation by Dr. Arunkumar, and an honouring of the chief guest by Mr. N. Raguvaran. Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology conducted a GATE Exam Awareness and Induction Program today at the college auditorium to guide students on strategies for cracking the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). The program began with a welcome address by Mr. P. Arivazhagan, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, who highlighted the importance of early preparation for competitive examinations. The technical session was delivered by Dr. Thiyagarajan from GATE Win, Trichy, a renowned GATE coaching expert. He shared effective preparation strategies, key subject areas, and career opportunities available through strong GATE performance, including admission to premier institutes and recruitment in top public sector undertakings. Feedback from participating students indicated that the session enhanced their understanding of exam strategies and motivated them to begin focused preparation. A total of 200 students participated in this event.

One-Day Workshop on Innovative Thinking and Implementing IPR

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology successfully conducted a Training on Learning Communication Program Mr.T.Gopinath and Mr.V.Shanmugavel led the session aimed at enhancing the placement readiness of first-year Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) students on 23rd September 2025. The program focused on developing essential communication skills to support students in their future career pursuits.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, successfully organized the Reconstitution of the Department Association “ARINDASCI” on 22nd September 2025. The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Mrs. K. Maheshwari, Head of the Department (AI & DS), who highlighted the vision and goals of the association, followed by the introduction of the newly elected association executives who were entrusted with their responsibilities. As part of the reconstitution ceremony, the association organized its first event – an External Seminar by Ms. E. Bhavadharani, Senior Technical Trainer, Cadpoint Institute of Science and Technology, Nagapattinam, who delivered an insightful session on emerging trends and opportunities in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, inspiring students to explore innovations and strengthen their technical expertise. The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Mrs. K. Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology successfully conducted a one-day training programme on Effective Public Speaking for the first-year BE – CSE (AI & ML) students. The trainers, Mr. V. Shanmugavel and Mr. T. Gopinath, assigned various tasks to the students and engaged them in a very active and pleasant manner. The students enthusiastically participated in all the activities and learned several valuable communication skills. This training has paved the way for the students to overcome stage fear and shyness when interacting with new people, while also helping them develop an effective and unique style of communication.

Sir Issac Newton College of Engineering and Technology, Nagapattinam, through its NSS Unit, organized an Anti-Drug Quiz Competition on 15.09.2025 to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse. The winners of the competition were K. Prasanna (I Prize, 3rd Year AIDS), T. Subasri (II Prize, 3rd Year AIDS), and Amirthaboorani (III Prize, 3rd Year AIDS). The program, which highlighted the importance of knowledge and awareness in combating drug addiction, was successfully organized by Mr. C. Sundarraj (AP/Agri) and Mr. G. Bharathikannan (AP/CSE) under the guidance of the NSS Unit.
